Snapchat is becoming a bigger deal for marketers and brands. The disappearing messaging mobile app that is popular among teens and young adults has added multiple features over the past 12 months. These new features offer major publishers and marketers a new opportunity to reach a very concentrated and lucrative audience.
But getting started on Snapchat can be difficult. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, the learning curve for Snapchat may be longer than normal because the app uses a swipe-based navigation. Instead of a top or bottom-screen navigation (Instagram/Twitter), users navigate throughout the application by swiping left, right, up and down.
Snapchat’s blog does not offer a walk through or a detailed write up on how to use the app. Marketing professionals will need to download the app, register an account, and start sending snaps. To help get the ball rolling, check out these 10 Snapchat tricks everyone should know about.
After you’ve got those tricks down, check out this slideshare from Gary Vaynerchuk that includes six more Snapchat hacks that marketers, brands, and frankly everyone else should also know about too. A basic understanding of how influencers and users operate within the mobile app will give marketers an advantage when incorporating this new platform into their marketing mix.
